Marutama Ra-men

Long time no post, I've been busy...mostly working...and eating (so expect a swarm of incoming food posts). This is just a quick post on Marutama Ra-men, which opened only three months ago.

The interesting thing about Marutama is that they use a chicken broth for their ramen. And if you've read any of the reviews on Maruama, you'll know that their marinated egg is apparently amazing. I got the Marutama tamago ra-men which comes with two pieces of cha-shu and a marinated egg:

First, I have to say that I am very picky about my ramen. I like a very rich flavored broth, so anything that's 'light' just doesn't cut it for me. The broth at Marutama is actually really good. It's different from much of the other ramen broths I've tried and very very flavorful, with a fairly evident chicken broth taste. The cha-shu was melt-in-your mouth delicious and the noodles were great as well. But lets talk about the egg - it really did stand up to the hype! It was probably the most flavorful marinated egg I've ever tried and it was absolutely delicious.

Overall, Marutama is a good place in my book, and I would definitely go back!
